Conservation Update: May 2002

We received the following letter from Mark LaBarbera, President Outdoor Heritage Education Center.Thanking us for the $100 donation we made to the Girls and Boys Club of the Twin Cities Environmental Camp. This donation was matched by the DarkHouse Assn. and OHEC. The funds went to purchase boat registration stickers for their boats and canoes.

Dear Vern,
The BASS MN donation of $100 for youth education challenge grant was received. We matched it 2:1 to triple your money, and actually delivered $310 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities environmental camp. On behalf of OHEC's volunteers and the dedicated folks at the Boys & Girls Clubs, thank you so much for your generosity. Your donation helped put
urban youth in fishing boats and canoes, and that's a good thing! Please share this email and our sincere gratitude with the rest of your group. We'd like to thank each and every one for stepping to the plate to help.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATION WE RECEIVED YESTERDAY!
Mark LaBarbera, President

The Minnesota Bass Federation teams up with Cast-A-Ways for Kids for worthy cause March 25,2002- Every year Ron Schara's Cast-A-Ways for Kids Fishing Pole Restoration Project collects used rods and reels in order to restore them to working condition and donate them back to people and programs in the community The Minnesota Bass Federation is now one of the fishing groups, which restores these rods and reels. Cast-A-ways goal this year is to collect and distribute 3,000-4000 rods and reels.
